Congresswomen Mary Bono to discuss data security legislation on The Watchdog Report airing Saturday morning, October 7, 2006 on NewsTalk AM 590, KTIE.

Congresswoman Bono serves California’s 45th Congressional District and sits on the Energy and Commerce Committee. Rep. Bono has sponsored H.R. 29 Spy Act, which will protect users of the Internet from unknowing transmission of their personally identifiable information through spyware programs. Rep. Bono has also co-sponsored H.R. 4127 Data Accountability and Trust Act (DATA). This Act is intended to protect consumers by requiring reasonable security policies and procedures to protect computerized data containing personal information, and to provide for nationwide notice in the event of a security breach.
